I make prints, because I like the idea that more than one person can have an original piece of art: every print from a block or plate is slightly different, making each print unique in its' own right.
Transforming an idea into an image gives me enjoyment; however clear in my head, the filtering of thought, drawing, and method brings about
( often surprising ) mutations.
Why 'Volunteer Potato'?  It's a wordplay: I grow veg on an allotment, and potatoes which escape the harvest and grow on the next year are called volunteers.  Potatoes are also used to make the most basic of prints, so there you have it.
